The default trap

Most Australians have life insurance they didn't choose.

It's the default cover in your super, automatically applied when you joined.

A young family typically needs around $561,000 in life cover and $874,000 in TPD cover per parent.1 The average super default pays about $420,000 combined.2 A third of what you actually need.

That's where Skye comes in.

Aimee at Skye made my insurance experience such a breeze! Insurances were not the easiest thing for me to wrap my mind around, expecting jargon and loooots of T&Cs but Aimee made the whole thing so straight forward and clear for me. She made me feel comfortable and clear on the steps the whole way through. Cannot recommend Skye enough!

Skye was recommended to me by my financial advisor and I’m really glad they did. I worked with Matthew Warren and he was so excellent at understanding my needs and translating them into products that work for me, despite some setbacks because of health issues. I’m really grateful for the compassion and professionalism and have no hesitation recommending Skye to anyone.

The team at Skye Wealth was fantastic to work with. They took the time to understand our specific needs and provided recommendations that were tailored to our situation. They were friendly, communicative, and always happy to answer our questions. Personal insurance can feel really overwhelming and complicated, so having a knowledgeable professional guide us through the process made a huge difference. Highly recommend!

Common questions

The bits people actually ask.

How much does advice cost?

A once-off fee, ranging from $330 to $770 depending on your situation. You'll know the exact number before any work begins, and there are no ongoing fees. Full pricing is in the section above.

Are you tied to one insurer?

No. We work with multiple insurers on Skye's Approved Product List and recommend the cover that fits your situation. Skye receives commissions from insurers, fully disclosed in our Financial Services Guide and your Statement of Advice. Our commission isn't adjusted based on which insurer you choose.

Can you replace my super cover?

We can review what you have first. Plenty of clients keep their super cover after a review. Where we suggest a change, we set the new policy up before cancelling the old one so you're never uncovered.

What if I get declined or get a loading?

It happens, and it's why we pre-assess with insurers before formally applying. Pre-assessment is anonymous, doesn't go on your record, and lets us shop your situation around to see who'll offer the best terms before any insurer makes a decision.

Will I get a sales pitch?

No. The first call is a conversation. We listen, ask questions, and figure out if we can help. If we can't, or if you already have the right cover, we'll tell you.

How long does it take to be covered?

Typically 2 to 6 weeks from your first call to your policy being active, depending on the insurer and any underwriting needed.
